You know what I find outrageous about a certain segment in Kuwait, whether they're merchants, royals, bedouin, 'hathar' or whatever; they all desire position and power but for the wrong reasons, and they certainly don't want to be burdened with any responsibility. Their aim isn't to improve things: upgrade services, infrastructure, liberalize the economy or aid Kuwait in any way...they just want to get their names in the paper and create a social and political power-base for their own petty reasons.

I've noticed that too... everyone wants to a build a power base of flunkies and cronies.
Pretty soon they'll be armed and we'll have gang warfare on our streets!!

What you should really find outrageous - if you bothered to think about it for a second or two instead of repeating the same tired old comments about corruption, 'wasta', and all the other dysfunctional shit that is normal in Kuwait - is how
you and your lot bitch and moan and analyze, but like all Arabs, you never fix your problem and all you do is keep quiet and take it in the ass, however bad it gets.

Deville,
My post must have hit a nerve with you, laddie. Maybe you were one of the guys I was writing about?
Let me tell you something Einstein (pay attention, you might finally learn something): "your lot" - as you call them - are writers, bloggers, filmmakers, young activists, artists, politicians and Kuwaiti citizens who care about Kuwait.
They made history several times before and they will again.
I am honored to be part of that "lot."
Your "lot,"Deville, are 'company men' and apologists who can't tolerate criticism, constantly defending the status quo (no matter how flawed) because you don't give a rats arse about anything or anyone but yourself.
You mention Kuwait is "dysfunctional" and "corrupt" - what are YOU doing about it?
Go back to reading your favorite newspaper 'Al-Watan' and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Dville you just got your bum handed to you on a platter, haha.
Next time try reading about how qwaiti bloggers and the orange movement changed history, before talking out of our butt.
Kk nice meeting you, now screw off :)
